Deviation Actions
I've been wanting to do a feature for a while, and this Project Educate contest seemed like the perfect chance to do it. In this journal I've collected some pieces of art which depict medieval topics and/or are drawn in a medieval style. I've tried to choose deviations which don't have quite as many favourites as they deserve. Enjoy!

November update
Joachim von Sandrart: November (1643)
We're half-way through November, and I thought I'd write a little update about what I've been up to lately. I've been feeling bad about not uploading anything to DA, but far from having stopped drawing, these past two months have been extremely productive. As I wrote last month, I've been attending two art courses. One of those is my school's art diploma course: we were given assignments to choose from and roughly 24 hours total (spread over the course of many weeks, of course!) to complete a project and a portfolio detailing our working process. I've been working on a series of drawings on the sacrament
October
Time flies - can't believe we're almost half-way through October already. Today I was browsing through the wikipedia list of 19th century Catholic painters, and stumbled upon one James Tissot and the beautiful painting below. I knew I had to write a journal, even if just to feature it!
James Tissot: October (1877)
October so far has been busy and brilliant. I'm working on my final art project for school (a series of drawings on the sacraments) as well as a general drawing/painting course. Both have had me practicing using values and making pictures (particularly portraits) in a more realistic style. I've also been working on drawing hands a
[Feature] St. Therese of Lisieux
October the 1st is the feast day of my confirmation saint, the amazing St. Thérèse of Lisieux! To celebrate I decided to do a feature journal of artwork depicting her. Looking through DA I was surprised to find everything from tile designs and a real stained-glass window to an amazing digital painting-in-progress of St. Thérèse as Joan of Arc! I've found many new pieces to favourite and artists to watch, and I hope you will too! Enjoy!

Confirmation! And St. Therese of Lisieux
It's been a long while since I've managed to submit anything. I've mostly been busy with school, studying for exams, etc. etc. Stuff I won't bore you with. But now something way cooler is happening: I'm finally getting confirmed!!!
Yes, that totally warrants three exclamation marks! This Sunday I'm finally getting confirmed!!! That's... surreal, and awesome. I'm way late to the party, I guess - most Catholics (at least in my area) are long confirmed by the time they're 18. But while I can't wait for Sunday, I'm glad I decided to wait back when the invitation came three years ago. I wasn't ready to commit myself to the Church and her teaching
